Girls from Troop #329 "Explore Austin"

If you were on the University of Texas campus on Sunday, September 22nd, you may have seen a blur of green walking through campus.  The group of green was Girl Scout Troop 329 enjoying the first day of fall and Austin Museum Day.

The troop was able to make use of Austin’s annual Museum Day to enjoy 2 museums for free.  They visited the LBJ Museum and Library, as well as the Texas Memorial Museum.  While on campus they also hiked through to see the UT Fountain and the UT Tower.  What do all these things have in common?  They are all on the list of popular Austin locations to visit in order to earn the “Explore Austin” patch from the Girl Scouts of Central Texas store.

So, in just one day, the girls visited half the number of places they need to receive the badge.  This Crystal Falls Service Unit troop loves field trips—over half of the girls in it have earned the patch already.  Troop leaders Jill Nalley and Robin Albert, and a few awesome volunteer parents love fun local trips as much as the girls, so watch out for those green shirts around Austin!

One of the best things about Girl Scouts is exploring new and exciting places with your troop and making lifelong friendships!

You can be a part of Girl Scouts, too. Join or volunteer and help your girls start building memories that will last them a lifetime.
