Bryan/College Station Women of Distinction Spotlight - Barbara Kruse

Barbara Kruse

Barbara Kruse was born and raised in the rural community of Beaman, Iowa.  She is a lifetime Girl Scout, whose passion for Girl Scouting has driven those around her to achieve their Gold Award and to succeed in school and in the community.  Barbara’s commitment to community projects and volunteering began at an early age, and her involvement in Girl Scouting culminated with a recycling project that earned her the rank of First Class Scout (the precursor to the Gold Award). Girl Scouts of Central Texas is proud to honor Barbara for her leadership and the example she sets for fellow Girl Scouts to emulate.

After graduating from high school, Barbara attended the University of Iowa and earned a degree in Clinical Science.  She has served as a board member for numerous community organizations, including the Lutheran Social Services and the Washington County Youth Camp.  Barbara is currently the Vice Chair of Trinity Charter School Board, as well as a trustee on the foundation board for Scott & White of Brenham.  Barbara and her husband, Paul, have three children, and she has been a full-time mom for 18 years.

Congratulations Barbara!
