Bryan/College Station Women of Distinction Spotlight - Beverly Walker

Beverly Walker

Beverly B. Walker was born and raised in Will Point, TX, where she graduated from Cartwright High School.  She received her undergraduate degree at Texas Southern University in Houston, and later earned a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Houston, and a Texas State Certification Mid-Management from Stephen F. Austin State University.  Beverly worked for thirty-five years as a teacher and five years as a principal in the Houston area, and she began working with her husband at his business, Walker and Walker Bail Bonding Company, when she moved to Bryan.

Outside of her career, helping others and giving back to the community have remained at the forefront of her passions.  Beverly served on the Keep Brazos Beautiful Board of Directors, and she volunteers with the Salvation Army. She helps the elderly in the community by taking them to the doctor’s office and other appointments, and she mentors teen girls from the Brazos Valley Juvenile Justice System.  Beverly has a Christian Education Scholarship named in her honor.  She is a Prenatal Clinic Honoree, a Paul Harris Recipient, and the past president of the Brazos Valley Area alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.  Girl Scouts of Central Texas is proud to honor Beverly for her philanthropic work and the example it sets for all Girl Scouts.

Beyond her extensive community involvement, Beverly enjoys spending time with her husband, Marvin, their children, and their fourteen grandchildren.

Congratulations Beverly!
