Shields and GSCTX Gold Girl Claire B. For her Gold Award Project, Claire chartered a First League Lego team at Summitt Elementary. She created the program to give students -- particularly girls-- the opportunity to participate in a robotics program that she lacked in elementary school in hopes of ultimately eliminating the gender stereotypes that stigmatize STEM.
